Bryan Elwood

Bryan A. Elwood is a legal and compliance leader with a career spanning over three decades, during which he has navigated and resolved the most complex challenges in international trade, corporate governance, and global regulation.

His pinnacle experience includes nearly 14 years as Vice President, General Counsel, and Chief Compliance Officer (GC/CCO) at Tricon Energy, the world's second-largest petrochemical and polymer distribution company, with $13 billion in revenues. In this role, Bryan was a strategic pillar, scaling the legal and compliance team from 1 to 16 professionals and designing and implementing from scratch a global compliance system that became a benchmark in the sector, achieving a Platinum ECOVADIS rating (Top 1%) in ESG.

His profound expertise covers full legal management of over 50 global entities, leading responses to major cyberattacks, and resolving hundreds of international disputes. He is an expert in sanctions, export controls, customs, anti-corruption, and antitrust, noted for his ability to reorganize supply chain flows to meet complex regulations, such as Russian sanctions.

Previously, Bryan built a solid foundation as a Diplomat and Chief International Trade Counsel at the Embassy of Mexico in the U.S., where he was instrumental in the implementation and resolution of disputes under NAFTA and the WTO, reducing the number of cases from 34 to 13 in two years.

His profile is completed by experience as a consultant and an arbitrator for the NAFTA Secretariat, and elite education with a Law Degree from Universidad Iberoamericana and an LL.M. from Georgetown University Law Center. He is 100% fluent in English and Spanish and is admitted to practice in New York, Mexico, and the U.S. Court of International Trade.
